Welcome to Tikvat Yisrael Messianic Congregation Tikvat Yisrael Messianic Jewish Congregation has be privileged to bring the good news about Messiah Yeshua to the Greater Cleveland area for nearly 30 years. In Hebrew our name means “Hope of Israel and that is indeed what we are. Tikvat is an ideal worship home for people who are Jewish, in Interfaith marriages, and Christians with a passion for the Jewish roots of the Messiah. Tikvat is a founding member of the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations, an umbrella organization for the Messianic Jewish movement, and also a member of the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America. At Tikvat, Jewish followers of Yeshua worship side by side with Gentile believers who wish to honor Yeshua’s Jewish roots. At Tikvat we use both the Old Testament (Tenach) and the New Testament (Brit-Hadesha) as the basis of our services and we honor both Jewish and Christian holidays. Tikvat’s services have a Jewish feel to more closely approximate how Yeshua Himself might have worshipped nearly 2000 years ago. Our services incorporate uplifting, God-honoring, Jewish-flavored music and liturgy. We also include a Torah service where like Yeshua, we unscroll and read from the Torah, as well as from the other books of the Old and New Testament. The final portion of the service features a teaching from either the Old or New Testament as G-d should direct. Tikvat Yisrael offers a sense of peace and closeness to G-d, Jewish traditions and holidays, deeply moving, beautiful music, and warm caring people. Visitors often comment on the friendliness of the people and the presence of G-d they feel as Tikvat’s musicians lead in worship, liturgy is read, and the message is delivered.
About Messianic Judaism
Messianic Judaism is a Biblically-based movement of Jewish and non-Jewish people who desire to worship Yeshua (the Hebrew name of Jesus) from a Jewish perspective. In many ways, Messianic Judaism is a return to the first century when the majority of Yeshua’s followers were Jewish. There are an estimated 300,000+ Jewish believers in Yeshua worldwide with congregations throughout the United States, Israel, the former Soviet Union, South America, and Australia. | |||||||
